How much is a transfer from Plovdiv Airport to the city?

25 € for the whole sedan, whether one person rides or four. The price comes from our Plovdiv price list, where the airport is listed both as a pick-up and as a drop-off, so the trip from your hotel back to the airport costs the same. It includes the driver, the fuel and the drive to the door of your hotel or flat anywhere in Plovdiv.

Vehicle Passengers Plovdiv Airport ↔ Plovdiv
Sedan up to 4 25 €
Minivan up to 6 35 €
Minibus up to 8 40 €

The sedan suits up to four people with normal suitcases. If you land with ski bags, a bike box, a pushchair or simply four large cases, take the minivan; a family of five or six needs it anyway. The minibus is for groups up to eight, for example a wedding party or a team coming for a trade fair. Mercedes E-Class or S-Class cars and larger buses are on request.

Onward from Plovdiv Airport: Sofia, the mountains and the coast

Many people who land in Plovdiv are not staying in the city. The airport sits in the middle of southern Bulgaria, so the Rhodope ski resorts, the Rila and Pirin mountains and the coast are all within a day’s drive. These rows come from our Plovdiv Airport price list, except the last one, which is the trip to the airport from Sofia:

Trip Distance Sedan Minivan Minibus
Plovdiv Airport → Sofia Airport 145 km, 1:45 h 100 € 120 € 140 €
Plovdiv Airport → Pamporovo 85 km, 1:45 h 80 € 100 € 120 €
Plovdiv Airport → Borovets 125 km, 2:00 h 90 € 120 € 140 €
Plovdiv Airport → Bansko 150 km, 2:30 h 120 € 160 € 180 €
Plovdiv Airport → Stara Zagora 105 km, 1:45 h 90 € 110 € 130 €
Plovdiv Airport → Burgas 255 km, 2:45 h 160 € 220 € 250 €
Plovdiv Airport → Sunny Beach, Nessebar or Sozopol 290 km, 3:15 h 180 € 250 € 280 €
Sofia or Sofia Airport → Plovdiv Airport 165 km, 2:00 h 110 € 130 € 150 €

The two Sofia rows are not a mistake. Plovdiv Airport to Sofia Airport (145 km, 100 € by sedan) and Sofia to Plovdiv Airport (165 km, 110 € by sedan) are separate lines in our price lists, and we quote each direction as it is written there. For the winter season, our ski transfer guide for 2026/27 compares the resorts from both airports.

How long is the drive from Plovdiv Airport?

About 25 minutes to the centre of Plovdiv. The airport is near the village of Krumovo, south-east of the city, and the road in is short and flat. Outside the morning and evening rush hours the driver usually needs less time than that.

The longer trips: Pamporovo is about 1 hour 45 minutes, on the road through Asenovgrad and up the Chepelare valley into the Rhodopes. Borovets takes about 2 hours and Bansko about 2 hours 30 minutes. Sofia Airport is roughly 1 hour 45 minutes away on the Trakia motorway, and Burgas about 2 hours 45 minutes. Sunny Beach, Nessebar and Sozopol each take about 3 hours 15 minutes. In winter, mountain roads can be slower after heavy snow; the driver checks the conditions before you set off.

Where does the driver meet me at Plovdiv Airport?

In the arrivals hall, as you come out after baggage claim. The terminal in Plovdiv is small, so finding each other is easy. Before you travel you receive the driver’s name and phone number, and you can call or text him when you land. If you fly in from a country outside the Schengen area, such as the United Kingdom or Israel, you go through passport control first; the driver knows this and waits.

We follow your flight. If it is delayed, waiting at the airport is free and has no time limit. For pick-ups at a hotel or flat, for example on your way back to the airport, the driver is at the door at the agreed time, with up to 15 minutes of waiting included at the address.

Why a small airport changes the plan

Plovdiv has far fewer flights than Sofia, and its timetable changes between summer and winter. That has two practical effects. First, it is simpler to have a car booked before you land than to look for one at the exit when a full plane arrives at the same time. Second, plans sometimes change: if your airline moves your flight to Sofia, send us the new flight number and we collect you there instead. The trip from Sofia Airport to Plovdiv is 100 € by sedan; read Sofia Airport to Plovdiv transfer and our Sofia Airport arrivals guide for that case.

Getting into Plovdiv: Old Town, Kapana and the centre

Most hotels in Plovdiv are in or near the centre, and the driver takes you to the entrance. Two areas need a word in advance. The Old Town is built on a hill, with steep cobbled lanes, and some of its streets are closed to traffic, so the car stops as near as it can and the driver helps you with the bags for the last metres. Kapana, the area of small streets full of bars and galleries, and the long pedestrian main street work the same way. Send us the exact address and we tell you before the trip where the car will stop.

Can I bring skis, a bike or a pet?

Yes. Tell us what you are bringing and we send a car with enough room: skis and boot bags for the Rhodopes, bike boxes, golf bags or a cello. The driver loads and unloads with you. Dogs and cats travel with our partner service YesTrans, which drives pets together with their owners.

  • Children: infant carrier, child seat and booster at no extra cost; tell us how many children are coming.
  • Stops: a supermarket on the way to a ski flat, or a cash machine before the mountains, is fine. Just ask the driver.

How do I pay?

Payment goes to the driver once you have arrived. Booking costs nothing: we ask for no prepayment and no deposit. If you need an invoice, for example for a business trip to the Plovdiv fair, let us know when booking.

From two drivers to a fleet, with the same rules

True Drivers started in 2015 with two drivers, Pavel and David, who took the first bookings and drove the first airport runs themselves. Today the fleet we work with counts about 200 sedans and 50 minivans, plus 100 buses and 20 Mercedes S-Class and E-Class cars, and we drive between all of Bulgaria’s airports. What has not changed is the way we quote: a fixed price before the trip, and no extras added at the end. You can read this site in English, Bulgarian, German, Italian and Hebrew.

All destinations are in our Plovdiv Airport price list. If you fly to the coast instead, see Burgas Airport to Sunny Beach and Nessebar and Burgas Airport to Sozopol.

Book in three steps

  1. Send us your flight number, the date, where you are going and how many people and bags there are.
  2. You get the fixed price and the driver’s details back in the chat or by e-mail.
  3. The driver is waiting in the arrivals hall; payment is at the end.
