A short drive via Samokov

From the airport the driver takes the Sofia ring road and heads south through Pancharevo to Samokov. Borovets lies about 10 km above the town, in the Rila mountains, and the final stretch is a winding climb. From mid-November the cars run on winter tyres. Snow can make the trip longer than usual; the price we agreed stays the same.

Arrival day: ski hire and lift passes

Because the transfer is short, a midday landing usually leaves the whole afternoon free in the resort. Use it to get boots and skis fitted and buy lift passes, and the first morning starts on the slopes, not in a queue. Borovets has gentle runs close to the centre and ski schools for children and beginners, which is why it suits a first ski holiday.

Where the driver drops you

The driver takes you to the entrance of your hotel, chalet or apartment building, not to a central stop. Send us its exact name; for an apartment, add the block or entrance.

Ski bags and which vehicle

A couple with skis travels comfortably in the sedan. For four people with ski bags and suitcases, book the minivan; a group of up to 8, or two families together, fits in the minibus with all the gear. Tell us how many ski and snowboard bags you have. For children we bring an infant carrier, child seat or booster at no charge.

Going home: when to leave Borovets

For the return, tell us when your flight leaves and we suggest a pick-up. Leaving the resort about four hours before the flight usually covers the drive, a buffer for snow and the airport formalities. The driver is at the hotel at the agreed time and will wait up to 15 minutes.
