How much does a transfer from Sofia Airport to Bansko cost?

100 € for the whole sedan, not per person. The table comes from our Sofia Airport price list. The price is fixed when you book and covers the driver, the fuel and the whole way to your hotel or chalet in Bansko; it does not change at night, at the weekend or in the middle of the ski season.

The sedan takes up to 4 passengers, but four skiers with suitcases and ski bags do not fit in a sedan: 4 people with skis = minivan. A minivan also makes sense for a family with a pushchair and winter luggage. Two families or a group of friends usually pay less per person in one minibus than in two cars. Mercedes E-Class or S-Class cars and buses for more than 8 people are on request.

How long is the drive from Sofia Airport to Bansko?

About 2 hours 15 minutes for roughly 155 km, without changes. From the airport the driver takes the ring road around Sofia and then the Struma motorway south, past Pernik, Dupnitsa and Blagoevgrad. Near Simitli he leaves the motorway and the road climbs over the Predela pass, between the Rila and Pirin mountains, down to Razlog and Bansko. There is no border on this route.

In winter the last part is a mountain road. Our cars run on winter tyres from the middle of November and use chains when there is heavy snow, and the driver adapts the speed to the road. After a big snowfall, or on Saturdays when many ski groups arrive at the same time, the trip can take longer. For the flight home, send us the departure time and we suggest a pick-up time with a buffer for snow, traffic and check-in.

Where does the driver meet me at Sofia Airport?

In the arrivals hall of your terminal, after passport control and baggage claim. Ski bags can take a little longer to come out, so take your time: the driver waits. Before the trip you get his name and phone number, and you can call or write to him as soon as you land. If you do not speak Bulgarian, ask for a driver who speaks English when you book.

Yes. Skis, snowboards, boot bags and ski bags travel with you; tell us how many when you book, so that we send a vehicle where everything fits. The driver helps you load the car. Bringing a dog or a cat? Tell us in your request and we will confirm the details of the ride.

Where we drop you off in Bansko

Bansko has two sides. The old town, with its stone houses, taverns and narrow lanes, lies around the centre and the church square, and some of its streets are too narrow for a minibus. The newer part, with most of the big hotels and apartment buildings, stretches up towards the gondola lift station. The driver stops at the entrance of your hotel or as close to it as the road allows; send us the exact name and address.

How do I pay?

You pay the driver at the end of the trip. There is no prepayment and no deposit: you book, we confirm the fixed price, and nothing is charged before you are in Bansko. If you need a receipt or an invoice for your company or ski club, tell us when you book.
