Varna Airport to Balchik, Kavarna and the golf resorts

A private transfer from Varna Airport to Balchik costs 60 € for a sedan with up to 4 passengers, 70 € for a minivan with up to 6 and 95 € for a minibus with up to 8. The drive is about 40 km and takes around 45 minutes. Kavarna is 65 € and about 1 hour 15 minutes away, and the three golf resorts on the cliffs (Lighthouse, BlackSeaRama and Thracian Cliffs) are 70 € by sedan. The price is fixed for the whole car, nothing is paid in advance, and we drive 24/7.

Prices from Varna Airport to Balchik, Kavarna and the golf courses

These are the rows from our Varna Airport price list for the north coast. Each price is for the whole vehicle, one way, and covers the driver, the fuel and the drive right to your hotel, villa or apartment.

The golf resorts all have their own row in the price list, so a transfer straight to the clubhouse or to your villa inside the resort costs the same 70 € / 90 € / 105 €. Groups of more than 8 people and Mercedes E-Class or S-Class cars are on request. The ride back to the airport is priced separately and confirmed when you book, because it is not always the same as the way there. Balchik, Kavarna or a golf resort: where you are going

Balchik

Balchik is a small town of white houses built on terraces above the sea. Most visitors come for the old summer palace and its botanical garden by the water, and for the quiet harbour with fish restaurants. It is calmer than the big resorts, and many hotels and guesthouses sit on steep streets, so give us the exact address and the driver will find the closest stop.

Kavarna

Kavarna lies further north-east on a high plateau, with a small port and beach below the town. It is a good base for the open steppe landscape of this corner of Bulgaria and for Cape Kaliakra, which is a short drive further along the coast.

Lighthouse, BlackSeaRama and Thracian Cliffs

The three golf resorts are spread along the cliffs between Balchik and Kavarna. They are self-contained, with hotels and villas next to the course, and it is easy to spend a whole week there without moving. That is exactly why a fixed transfer from the airport makes sense: you arrive once, with all your clubs, and the driver takes you straight to the reception.

The drive from Varna Airport

Varna Airport is on the western side of the city. The driver takes the road north along the coast, past Golden Sands and Albena, and then on to Balchik; Kavarna and the golf courses are a little further along the same road. There is no motorway and no border on this route. In July and August traffic near the resorts is heavier, especially on Saturdays, so allow some extra time on the way back to the airport.

If you would like to stop at the Balchik palace, at Cape Kaliakra or at a shop on the way, tell us when you book and we confirm the price for the stop. For your flight home, send us the departure time and we suggest a pick-up time with a buffer for check-in.

Golf bags and luggage

Golf bags take a lot of room. Two players with two bags and two suitcases still fit in a sedan, but four golfers with four bags and luggage need a minivan, and a group of six to eight is best in a minibus. Tell us how many bags you are bringing and we send a car where everything fits without squeezing.

• Child seats at no extra cost: infant carrier, child seat and booster. Just tell us how many children travel with you.
• Groups and tournaments: up to 8 people ride together in one minibus; for bigger groups we arrange a bus or several vehicles.
• Pets: mention your dog or cat in the request and we confirm the details of the ride.

Meeting your driver at Varna Airport

The driver waits in the arrivals hall with a sign with your name on it. Before the trip you get the driver’s name and phone number, and all our drivers speak English. We track your flight: when it is early, the driver is already there, and when it is late, waiting at the airport is free and without a time limit.

When we pick you up from a hotel or villa for the trip back, the driver comes at the agreed time and waits up to 15 minutes at the address.

Landing in Burgas or Sofia instead

Some flights, especially in winter and spring, go to Burgas or Sofia rather than Varna. We drive to Balchik and Kavarna from both airports. These prices come from our Burgas Airport price list and our Sofia Airport price list:

From Sofia it is a full day on the road, so a fixed price per car and a driver who knows the way are worth having.

Paying and booking

You pay the driver at the end of the trip: no prepayment and no deposit. If you need a receipt or a company invoice, say so when you book.

2. We confirm the fixed price and the details in the chat or by e-mail.
3. Your driver meets you in arrivals, and you pay at the end of the ride.

Who will drive you

True Drivers was started in 2015 by two drivers, Pavel and David, who did the first transfers themselves. Today we work with around 200 sedans, 50 minivans, 100 buses and 20 Mercedes S-Class and E-Class cars, along the whole Black Sea coast, to the ski resorts and to the neighbouring countries. The price is for the whole car. A sedan to Balchik costs 60 € whether one person or four travel in it, as long as the luggage fits.

How much is a transfer from Varna Airport to Thracian Cliffs or BlackSeaRama?

Each of the three golf resorts costs 70 € by sedan, 90 € by minivan and 105 € by minibus, one way from Varna Airport, with the price fixed for the whole car.

Do golf bags fit in the car?

Yes, as long as we know about them. Tell us how many bags you have and we choose the vehicle; four golfers with bags and suitcases usually need a minivan.

What happens if my flight to Varna is delayed?

We follow your flight. If it lands late, the driver waits at Varna Airport for free and with no time limit, and then drives you to Balchik or Kavarna.

Do I have to pay in advance?

No. There is no prepayment and no deposit; you pay the driver at the end of the trip.

Can you also drive me from Balchik or Kavarna back to Varna Airport?

Yes, every day and at any hour. The return trip has its own price, which we confirm when you book; send us your flight time and we tell you when to leave.
