The first part is the Trakia motorway west. After that the driver leaves the motorway and the last stretch is a mountain road in the foothills of Rila. On a clear day it is a nice drive. After heavy snow it is slower, and on Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons in high season the road near the resorts gets busy.
